The types of things that are not good practice are:

How to use what you have learnt

You have invested the time, now make it work really hard for you.

This Me is designed to help you understand the skills employers are looking for, see how you perform, and identify ways of improving.

It's not about getting it right first time, it’s about trying out your thinking, seeing what works, changing, improving, and creating your own story.

Here are 3 things you can do:

1: Improve your score

Look at where you came versus other people who played the game. If you're in the top 25% then great, looks like you're in good shape, but if not (and that’s most people who play the game!) ask yourself; 'Where would I like to be?', 'How can I improve?'

Read the information about each measure; Thinking Skills, People Skills and Determination, and think about the choices you made? Is there anything that makes you think 'I hadn't thought of it that way'.

What might you do differently in that situation?

Play the game again, and see if your score improves.

2: Demonstrate to employers and recruiters that you have these skills through your own life experiences

What work experience have you had that relates to these skills? What examples can you give?

What did you do at school, university, as a member of a club or society? What hobbies and interests related to these skills? Were there things you did that you can use to show you behaved in the right way, e.g. managing a team of people to achieve a goal, captaining a football team, Dungeons and Dragons, leading a music group or being in a band? It doesn’t matter if it’s not work related, as long is it can show an employer that you have these skills. The more creative you are the better.

3: Create your own content to build your story

If there's something you're passionate about, get it out.

Write an essay, or white paper to document your thoughts – it will help you get it clear in your mind and tell other people what you're into and how you think and communicate.
